Vincenza is home to many splendid buildings of Andrea Palladio, probably the most influential individual in the history of Western architecture. The basilica (main cathedral) at the Palazzo della Ragione was designed by him, next to it is the Torre de Piazza, built in the 12th century. The Teatro Olimpico, the first indoor theatre was also designed by him. Another of his important designs is the La Rotonda, a magnificent villa located in the south of Vincenza in the Renaissance style.
The artistic city of Giambattista Tiepolo, Udine has numerous buildings designed in the Gothic-Venetian style. Important examples include as the Palazzo Comunale and the Loggia del Lionello. Piazza Libertà is a must see.
Giambattista Tiepolo has excellent works of his in the Tiepolo Galleries (Palazzo Patriarcale), the church of the Purità and the cathedral.
On the hill overlooking the city are the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Photography, the Photographic Archive, the Drawings and Prints Gallery and the Ancient Art Gallery, all housed in the Udine Castle.
The city of Ferrara is an excellent place for those interested in Medieval and Renaissance art. This is also reflected in much of its architecture, much of it from the 13th to the 16th centuries. Wandering the streets gives you an interesting perspective from this time period.
